Job description

McCartney Produce Company opened for business in July 1947 as a small produce wholesaler delivering to independent grocers and small restaurants. Our initial delivery area included only two states, Tennessee and Kentucky, and our drivers sold their produce directly off their trucks when they arrived at the customer’s location. It wasn’t until 1968 that we started accepting phone sales in advance of delivery.

Today, McCartney Produce services a broad spectrum of customers that include single location independents to regional and national chain foodservice and retail customers from our warehouse facility in Paris, Tennessee.

Essential Functions:

  • Service existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule
  • Visit a minimum number of existing customers and a minimum number of prospective customers per week
  • Increase customer sales in accordance with objectives
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of company activities, industry trends
  • Report and document daily activities to the Director of Sales and Marketing as necessary
  • Communicate with customer service department and the transportation department to meet customer delivery requirements
  • Communicate with night operations and buyers to meet customer needs
  • Occasionally deliver items as needed by customers
  • Provide customer service duties as necessary and required
  • Maintain insurability under the Company’s automobile insurance policy
  • Ability to communicate freely and directly with existing and potential clients, represent McCartney Produce and our interests in social events throughout the year, Team Player mentality with all employees of McCartney Produce

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Proficient PC skills in CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems- Produce Pro, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license

Physical Demands:

  • Stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Travel as needed and required
  • Occasionally lift up to 50lbs

Compensation Structure:

  • Base salary + Commission (Potential yearly between $70,000 - $100,000)
