Catering & event Server
We are seeking a hard-working and experienced catering & event server. The ideal candidate is courteous, professional, and works well with a team. They are responsible for greeting guests, helping them find their seats, and serving food and drinks throughout the event. A catering & event Server is also responsible for rolling out the events execution, preparing, set-up, and cleaning up the event, serving guests, and responding to questions and special requests.
In order to be successful in the catering & event server role, candidates must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Professionalism, politeness, and efficiency as a server are also required.
Catering & event Server Responsibilities Include:
Greeting guests as they arrive to the event and directing them to the right table or seat.
Making sure guests are comfortable by answering questions, taking their orders, ensuring special requests and instructions are relayed to the kitchen and bar, and serving the food and beverages.
Presents ordered choices in a prompt, efficient and friendly manner.
Maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude and responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process.
Prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from bar and kitchen and delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars in a positive and friendly manner.
Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
Catering & event Server Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
A minimum of 2 years previous experience as a server is required
Valid California Food Handlers Card
Valid ABC Responsible Beverage Service certificate
Vaccination is a requirement of the job and accommodations due to disability or religious reasons will be evaluated in compliance with prevailing regulations.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to and from events venues locations, company offices and warehouse
Needs to meet state minimum age requirements (as alcohol will be served)
Courteous, professional, and attentive to guests of the events
Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Work as part of a team to maintain guest satisfaction
Follow instructions provided for each specific event
Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays
Physical demands and work environment:
Continually required to walk
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds for short distances
Must be able to work on your feet for 8 hours or more.
Continually required to stand
Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop or kneel
Continually required to talk or hear
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid / hot conditions (weather & non-weather)
Frequently exposure to outside weather conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment may regularly be loud.
