The Primary Therapist utilizes a multidimensional approach to ensure high-quality continuum of care providing assessments, treatment planning and implementation, co-occurring diagnosis groups, relapse prevention skills education, and discharge planning in a supportive therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality bio-psychosocial assessments referring for trauma screens when indicated.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with reviews/updates at appropriate intervals in collaboration with clients.
  • Educate patients on addiction and dual diagnosis to providing a clear understanding of how addiction symptoms often mirror mental health disorder symptoms.
  • Provides integrated, comprehensive care to patients experiencing co-occurring disorders.
  • Utilize a strength-based and trauma-informed approach to support patients in the treatment and recovery process.
  • Based on assessments and the compilation of clinical and collateral information gathered; refer patients to ancillary therapies.
  • Facilitate educational/processing groups with assigned caseloads daily.
  • Provide individualized therapy a minimum of one time per week with each patient on your caseload.
  • Liaise with patient approved family members to develop and strengthen a healthy support system.
  • Model effective communication and healthy coping skills for clients.
  • Complete documentation requirements maintaining quality, up-to-date clinical records.
  • Work collaboratively with all clinical, medical, and residential staff.
  • Maintain compliance with continuing education requirements.
  • Participate in all clinical staff meetings, staff development, and trainings as required.
  • Develop continuing care and relapse prevention plans before time of discharge in partnership with the discharge planner/recovery coach.
