Job description

Title: Quality Engineer
Pay Rate: $43 - $50/hour (DOE)
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: M-F 7:30am-5pm
Location: Gilbert, AZ 85233 (100% Onsite)
Tekberry is seeking experienced Quality Engineer to support our client, a worldwide designer, manufacturer, and integrator of precision control components, within their Space & Defense Group in Gilbert, AZ.
The Quality Engineer (QE) will support Engineering Validation Testing (EVT) for spacecraft involving Thermal Vacuum, Dynamic, Propulsion, and EMI testing. This role includes off-shift, weekend, and potential overtime work to accommodate 24/7 test operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to applicable procedures and Customer contract requirements during the EVT campaign.
  • Support pre-test meetings by verifying test setup configuration, test equipment calibration is current, and flight software versions are current.
  • Support post-test meetings by verifying all signoffs are complete, all requirements have been met, and all test flags or nonconformances dispositioned appropriately.
  • Document and facilitate timely disposition of nonconformances (NCs) and test flags through TIPQA/Teamcenter/IMBS/MBS systems.
  • Support operational tasks including integration and testing, installations, bus movements, and other activities.
  • Participate in daily planning and update meetings with Customer for communication of quality issues and resource needs.
  • Collaborate with Test Engineering, Systems Engineering, and QE team to resolve issues and ensure smooth test execution.
  • Facilitate cross-functional Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) as needed.
  • Review and completed End Item Data Packs(EIDPs)

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and minimum five years' experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in Aerospace.
  • Experience with industry quality standards (AS9100/ISO9001 preferred), Quality Management System (QMS) Procedures, and Customer contract requirements.
  • Strong RCCA facilitation experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical presentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency with computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word,
  • Project, etc.).
  • Experience with Engineering Validation Testing strongly preferred.
