Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager drives strategic growth and expansion for EHS service lines by analyzing data related to capacity, patient demographics, utilization of trends, market intelligence and clinical outcomes to identify strategic opportunities. This role is responsible for identifying and analyzing potential internal and external barriers to accessing EHS services and providers. The role will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with both employed and independent physicians, as well as other local healthcare partners and key stakeholders within the Erlanger footprint in compliance with all regulatory requirements. The position oversees the coordination and execution of local programs, outreach activities, and educational events that promote EHS services; monitors changes in physician coverage and hospital services to capitalize on emerging opportunities. Identify opportunities to cultivate and manage a coordinated community network to bridge the gap between community support and clinical medicine.
Internally collaborate cross functionally with finance, legal, IT, marketing, clinical and service line leadership, and supports physician recruitment efforts to ensure alignment of strategic growth and delivery of high-quality solutions to our customers. The Business Development Manager plays a key role in advancing the organization's strategic growth initiatives within a competitive healthcare market.
Education:
Required: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred: MHA or MBA
Experience:
Minimum of 5 or more years in a health system business development or healthcare analytics position.
Previous demonstrated leadership experience. Knowledge of health care delivery systems, both acute and ambulatory. Experience in analytics, physician relations, and service excellence. Proven ability to solve complex problems with resourceful solutions, while streamlining communication across multiple concurrent projects. Past success in developing and leading growth initiatives. Demonstrated ability in leading or facilitating teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.

Employee Competency and Performance Assessment
The Business Development Manager {BDM} will represent Erlanger Health System to local and regional providers, facilities, agencies and community stakeholders. The BDM is responsible for faciliting the strategic and business growth initiatives of EHS through the direct promotion and advancement of EHS employed physicians and EHS product lines and services. Work closely with Executive Leadership, Strategy, Marketing, and Service Line Administrators to develop initiatives that result in increased targeted market share and enhanced quality and resource utilization (value creation).
Core responsibilities: Provide managerial coordination and execution of local and regional development initiatives, activities and programs that promote and support EHS. Produce, review and analyze internal and external market data, responding with an action plan to address opportunities. Stay current on industry trends and changes that may impact EHS's business development efforts. Work collaboratively with Service Line Teams to create reports and assess market trends and competitors to inform strategic planning and business development efforts. Maintain strong local presence via travel in the local and regional market for the maintenance and growth of market share. Determine the fiscal needs of the department and submit budget recommendations.
