Corporate Accounting Manager (Contract)

Pay: $60.00 - $72.00 per hour
Duration: 3-Month Contract
About the Opportunity
Our client, a large multi-state wholesale distribution organization, is seeking an experienced Corporate Accounting Manager to join their team on a three-month contract basis. This leadership role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading teams, and is passionate about driving process improvements while delivering meaningful financial insights.
The Corporate Accounting Manager will oversee key accounting functions, including general accounting, accounts payable, and warranty accounting, while ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient department operations. The position will play a critical role in month-end and year-end close activities, financial reporting, and team leadership.
Schedule
• 3-month contract assignment
• Hybrid work arrangement
• On-site Monday through Thursday on-site with Fridays remote
•Hours 8am to 5pm
Key Responsibilities
• Lead accounting teams in process improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
• Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
• Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
• Assist with the development of financial performance review packages and forecasting activities
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Research and resolve technical accounting issues in accordance with US GAAP and FASB standards
• Validate financial data integrity and ensure accuracy of accounting work products
• Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Marketing, Human Resources, and other departments to support business objectives
• Analyze financial and operational data to provide actionable business insights
• Mentor, coach, and develop accounting staff through performance management and training
• Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve workflows, and strengthen accounting controls
• Complete ad hoc projects and financial analyses as needed
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required
• MBA preferred
• CPA designation preferred
• Significant corporate accounting and leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and FASB Accounting Standards
• Experience with ASC 606, ASC 330, and ASC 842
• Experience supporting financial statement preparation and reporting processes
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting
• Experience within wholesale distribution, retail, or similar industries preferred
• Proven success leading accounting transformation initiatives and process improvements
• Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
Pay Details: $60.00 to $72.00 per hour
