Organization and Position Overview

Lilly recently announced a $4.5 billion investment to create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. The first-ever facility of its kind, combining research and manufacturing in a single location, the Medicine Foundry will allow Lilly to further develop innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and increase capacity for clinical trial medicines, while also reducing costs and environmental impact.

The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler is responsible for overseeing all maintenance planning and craft scheduling in their assigned area to ensure the company's assets are managed in compliance with cGMP and other applicable standards. This role is responsible for the planning and scheduling of corrective and preventive maintenance. The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler is responsible for fostering a culture of safety, technical expertise, and innovation in a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) such as IBM-Maximo, Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager, SAP Plant Maintenance or equivalent). This role will work closely with utilities / plant operations departments to determine equipment availability for maintenance scheduling. In addition, this role ensures alignment of maintenance planning with organizational goals for safety, quality, and efficiency, directly supporting the delivery of novel medicines for clinical trials within The Medicine Foundry. This position will be responsible for developing initial maintenance and calibration job plans and data sheets as well as long term planning and scheduling once the site is operational.

Responsibilities

In line with the job outlined above, the following are typically the key tasks that would be expected of the role:

  • Safety -
  • Comply with all HSE aspects including safety procedures, policies, permits, and practices.
  • Incorporates HSE aspects into maintenance planning and scheduling including job plans, contractor management, and scheduling with operations.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in LOTO processes and procedures.
  • Reports all safety concerns, incidents, and injuries to supervisor.
  • Promotes a positive & proactive safety culture for the maintenance team by ensuring systems are compliant regarding safety procedures, policies, permits, and practices.
  • Ensures proper housekeeping procedures are maintained.
  • Quality -
  • Responsible for meeting quality standards as defined by cGMPs, the Global Quality Standards, and local procedures. This includes ensuring that all regulatory based PM's are completed on schedule.
  • Planning & Scheduling Excellence -
  • Responsible for scheduling all maintenance, calibration, and repair work for their assign area.
  • Strong proficiency in using and training in a CMMS..
  • Deep understanding of maintenance scheduling, planning, procedures, and PM programs.
  • Responsible for creating and updating maintenance and calibration job plans and calibration data sheets.
  • Maintains and monitors backlog to prevent delinquent PM's.
  • Ensures maintenance work has been properly documented and completed accurately per assigned job plan.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawing systems and different types of equipment and instrumentation within the building.
  • Verifies the availability of parts, materials, and special tools required for the jobs and if needed will order parts and materials for planned jobs.
  • Maintains liaison and coordination between customers and maintenance activities to ensure minimal scheduling conflicts.

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance planning and scheduling experience in an FDA regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of CMMS systems (IBM Maximo, BMRAM, SAP PM or similar).

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$33.89 - $49.71

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
