Role Overview
Sodexo is seeking a Facilities Director to support a life sciences client in Millsboro, DE. This is a temporary position estimated to last 6 months. In this role, you will lead facilities and maintenance engineering operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient service delivery across a large-scale site. You will oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and capital projects. The position requires close collaboration with client leadership and Sodexo teams to ensure operational excellence. This role demands strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a proactive, customer-focused approach.

What You'll Do
  • Lead all facilities operations across a large campus (48 acres under roof / 65 acres total), including maintenance, engineering, and workplace services
  • Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive, corrective, and project maintenance using CMMS systems (SAP/Maximo)
  • Manage all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs, including regulatory compliance, audits, incident investigations, safety training, and risk mitigation initiatives
  • Direct vendors, contractors, and frontline teams, including staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, OSHA, environmental regulations, and site-specific safety and quality standards
  • Monitor KPIs, conduct site inspections, and provide regular performance updates to client and Sodexo leadership
