Job description

Make reliable power possible

Bring your Level III IC&E expertise to a Pittsburg, CA power generation facility on a 2–3 month contract (with potential extension). You will be the senior technician advancing reliability, safety, and performance across critical plant systems.

What you’ll do
  • Own instrumentation, controls, and electrical health across the site
  • Diagnose and correct issues in:
    • Generators, transformers, switchgear
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and auxiliaries
  • Maintain and calibrate field instruments: valves, transmitters, and devices
  • Analyze and optimize DCS and gas/steam turbine control systems
  • Lead advanced troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for electrical/control failures
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance per OEM and plant procedures
  • Use CMMS (Maximo, SAP) to plan work, track progress, and document tasks
  • Strengthen preventive programs to boost reliability
  • Interpret and apply electrical drawings, P&IDs, and technical references
  • Produce precise logs and performance reports
  • Mentor junior technicians and serve as the technical point of contact
  • Champion compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
What sets you up for success
  • High School Diploma or technical/vocational degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of IC&E experience in power generation or heavy industry
  • Demonstrated strength in electrical troubleshooting
  • Experience with:
    • DCS monitoring, troubleshooting, and configuration/programming
    • Gas or steam turbine controls
    • Switchgear, generators, transformers, and protective relays
  • CMMS familiarity (Maximo, SAP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of electrical theory, instrumentation, and control systems
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs
  • Valid driver’s license
