Fiscal and Operational Support is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Business Unit Systems Analyst. This position provides professional and technical work supporting and managing departmental information management systems. It is responsible for strategic Information Systems planning and project management for current and future information systems projects.
Job Description
Representative Duties/ Assignments
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for Maximo customizations (7.6 and 9.0).
  • Design, develop, and implement Maximo customizations using scripting languages (e.g., Java and JavaScript) and application development tools.
  • Develop and maintain Maximo integrations with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP and CMMS).
  • Create and maintain custom reports and dashboards using Maximo reporting tools and, where applicable, Oracle APEX.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Maximo-related issues.
  • Provide technical support to end users.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Stay current with the latest Maximo features, functionality, and best practices.
  • Assist with Maximo system upgrades and ongoing maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate work across organizational lines.
  • Think independently and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to work.
  • Ensures that IS systems are properly functioning and providing necessary support.
  • Conducts user training as needed. Provides technical support and assistance by establishing procedures, technical reports, computer programming, answering routine questions or resolving problems.
  • Analyzes user requirements, new systems for procurement, recommends alternative solutions.
  • Writes detailed system specification for Request for Proposal documentation. Tracks expenditures of funds.
  • Advises management on the status of information systems projects and provides expert technical advice on information systems matters affecting the department.
  • Participates in meetings with regards to strategic information systems development within Orange County. Coordination of projects that involve other agencies and outside vendors.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field and four (4) years of programming, systems development and computer analysis experience, to include one (1) year of supervisor or team project leader experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training or experience.

  • Previous experience with IBM Maximo
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL PL/SQL
  • Experience with Databases: Oracle 19C (+RAC), SQL Server, My SQL and Access.
  • Experience developing with Oracle 9.x and 11g, Rest, Phyton, Visual Basic.
  • Knowledge in Websphere
  • Knowledge and experience with O.S. Windows, Linux Red Hat
  • Previous experience with GIS
