Job Purpose

Consistently maintain all department assets within their operating context to ensure daily target achievement. Technicians are expected to take a proactive viewpoint and demonstrate continuous learning (on job training) to self-evolve. Strong ownership and accountability for all tasks is a must. Other tasks as directed by Team Coordinator, Team Manager and/or Unit Manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Daily, Plan, Do, Check, Act activity; Solving daily delivery struggles through deep Root Cause Analysis, strong countermeasure implementation, activity follow-up checks and incident report counter measure closure 
  • Effective core-time prevenative maintenance activity (Equipment condition monitoring, in process prevenative maintance, Zone equipment checks) 
  • Downtime Call Support (Fast equipment recovery and decision making) 
  • Computerized Maintenance Management system (Maximo) Data Entry (Documentation of 90% of all daily activity- Equipment change points, downtime calls, preventative maintenance closure, work order generation, investigation and counter measure activity, meetings, training, and improvement activity)
  • Daily Communication (Shift start meetings, feedback for Planner, work order backlog reviews, activity coordination with other shift members) 
  • Project and Theme activity (using knowledge and expertise to apply theme or projectbased improvements to improve dept) 
  • Continuous Improvement (on job training and skill based) (Self teaching, equipment understanding, technical documentation creation and sharing, technical training) 
  • Non-Core Activity Preparation and Coordination (Break-lunch-break and off shift activity preparation, line conditions, communication, testing planning, parts preparation) 
  • Department Pride Activity (Maintain cleanliness of all work areas, tool cribs, machine workstations, and office areas) 
  • Department 5S (sort, set, shine, standarize, sustain) activity (Maintain strong 5S for all equipment, tools and maintenance shop, maintain local parts stocking, emergency recovery tools) 
  • Die Parts, Machine tool and related machinery parts sourcing (Quote initiation, vendor negotiations, part specifications) 
  • New Die/Forming specification review and support (Risk assessments, commissioning checks, Genba review)

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Experience

  • 2-5 Years Maintenance experience in an industrial environment OR 0-2 Years Maintenance experience w/ degree or technical certification in relevant field

Other Job-Specific Skills

  • Electrical / Mechanical aptitude. Capable of modification or repair of equipment without support. Adept with testing instruments and hand tools.
  • Overall experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and electrical components
  • Understanding of blueprints, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics
  • Experience with Motoman or Fanuc
  • Robots Experience with Omron programmable logic controllers (PLCs) 

Working Conditions

  • Fast Pace and at times High Stress environment
  • Willingness to work any shift. As well as shift may change with business needs and include working weekends and shutdowns
  • Some travel with notice 2-3%
  • Overtime as required
  • Standing, setting, bending, climbing and walking on a consistent basis
  • Lifting and occasional lifting greater than 30lbs
