General Job Description
The Inspector stands next to a rolling conveyor and in front of a waist-high table. The Inspector flips the finished mattress from the conveyor onto the inspection table to inspect for defects and attach an inspection tag and warranty information. The Inspector will repair any minor defects if necessary. Once the finished mattress is inspected and tagged, the Inspector slides the mattress into the automated bagging machine. For major defects, the Inspector will flip the mattress back on to the conveyor to be moved to a different area for repair. The Inspector is also responsible for re-loading the large rolls of plastic into the bagging machine when necessary.
Physical Job Duties
  • Continuous walking around the inspection table, and between the table, the conveyor and the bagging machine.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling of mattresses on the inspection table and into the bagging machine.
  • Frequent repetitive use of hands/arms while inspecting mattresses, using hand tagger to attach paperwork and apply warranty stickers.
  • Frequent grasping of mattresses, hand tagger, and paperwork.
  • Occasional overhead reaching while re-loading the rolls of plastic for the bagging machine.
  • Occasional crouching while reloading the bagger machine.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying (with assistance) of items weighing over 50 pounds.
