Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time UPS Battery Technician to join our Critical Power Services team. This role is responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and replacing battery systems used in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems at data centers, commercial facilities, and enterprise sites across Southern California.
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect, and replace VRLA and lithium-ion battery systems in UPS units
  • Perform battery testing using handheld and manufacturer-provided tools
  • Record and report battery condition, voltages, and runtime performance
  • Complete preventive maintenance inspections on UPS systems
  • Support start-up and commissioning of new UPS installations
  • Follow safety protocols including NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, and PPE use
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company service van in clean, operable condition
  • Work with project managers, customers, and site personnel to complete jobs on time
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with UPS battery maintenance or critical power systems
  • Working knowledge of VRLA, AGM, and/or lithium-ion battery technologies
  • Familiarity with brands like APC, Eaton, Vertiv, or equivalent UPS systems
  • Able to lift and move battery components (up to 70 lbs) and operate hand tools
  • Comfortable working in data centers, server rooms, and mechanical spaces
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
