Position Reports to: CPC Manager

Position Description:

3. Ability to clearly communicate with customers of all types via e-mail and
phone.

4. Provide exceptional customer service to all customers and donors

5. Possess a valid driver's license

6. Pass a DOT medical exam (paid for by Vapor Thrift Store)

7. Be able to repeatedly lift 50+ pounds over a full-time shift

Time Requirements:

Position will be full-time -40 Hours per week.

Overtime will be approved on an exception basis by the Chief Business Officer.

Travel Requirements:

Extensive daily local travel is required in a Vapor Thrift Store vehicle (up to one hour radius from stores), in addition to once monthly staff meetings (within 20 mins of the store).


Equipment Requirements/Regulatory

  • Position requires a DOT health certification annually.
  • Position requires clear Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Employee must complete and pass Forklift Certification Training and be Certified.

Position Duties:

The VTS Central Processing Center Driver will help drive VTS profitability through donation pickups and sales of bulk goods.
1. Excellent Customer Service

  • Greet every customer and treat them with respect, optimism and joy at all times
  • Answer any and all questions for customers
  • Assist with any customer needs
  • Properly thank each customer for their business and donation
  • Escalate any customer service needs to Assistant Store Managers or Store Manager as needed
  • Share the vision and mission of Vapor Ministries with customers

2. Oversee Bulk Processing

  • Transfer all bulk/rag loads from all VTS store locations
  • Oversee warehouse operations/space at CPC
  • Track bulk inventory and coordinate with CBO on the scheduling of bulk sales
  • Schedule truck maintenance with CBO, as needed
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA requirements
  • Inspect and report any maintenance needs of all material handling equipment

3. Donation Pick Ups

  • Handle all donation pick-up requests, call donors, schedule pick-ups, evaluate items, load and transport to appropriate VTS location.
  • Oversee warehouse operations/space at CPC

4. Opening/Closing

  • If scheduled to open/close, perform and complete opening/closing checklist procedures
  • Assist in opening/closing of retail store, if needed

5. Housekeeping

  • Ensure a properly organized workspace during operating hours
  • Maintain organized, clean and safe working area in bulk sales/processing areas
