Responsibilities

This position will be based in Dr. Trish Simner's translational microbiology research lab, which focuses on antimicrobial resistance in bacteria. The candidate must be open to learning how to work with infectious microorganisms and follow appropriate biosafety practices. Perform various support functions in a research laboratory using appropriate procedures to minimize the risk of laboratory-acquired infection or sample contamination. Maintains and cleans laboratory equipment and facilities, restocks supplies, and maintains databases and records. Works under direct supervision. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and flexibility in adapting to changing workloads.

             High school diploma or GED required

             Coursework in mathematics and relevant sciences preferred

             Previous work experience demonstrating organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask

             Requires manual dexterity, accurate data entry/typing skills, and effective communication skills

             Must be able to prioritize work and adapt to changing demands

             Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite is required, particularly Microsoft Excel
