Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall function and set-up of CNC machine(s) running production. Provides open communication regarding production and routing any malfunctions to the appropriate person. Helps in establishing best practices to ensure the highest quality and output of the machine.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be self-sufficient with operating Citizen Swiss machines, L32, L20 (Mitsubishi controls)

  • Have basic machining practices and principles

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs.

  • Ability to use inspection equipment, (mics, calipers, height gage etc.)

  • Make tool offsets

  • Set longitude and diameters

  • Capable of making tool changes (understanding of insert nomenclature)

  • Changeover bar feed

  • Program editing and set-ups a plus

  • Ability to follow documentation practices

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years on the job CNC machining experience on a Swiss.

  • At least 2 years setting up CNC machines.

  • Reading, comprehension, problem solving, and math skills normally associated with completion of the 12th grade in school.

  • Completion of a Tech. College in Machining highly desirable.

  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges and no-go gauges.

  • Experience in reading blue prints.

  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high degree of hand-eye coordination.

  • Mobility to bend and lift, loading and unloading work pieces into the machine and move from one work station to another, alternately sitting and standing.

  • Lift objects up to 25-35 pounds throughout the day.

  • Ability to perform repetitive work more than 8 hours per day and weekends, as required.

  • Ability to read fine print and distinguish colors.

  • Ability to reach machine controls five feet above the floor.

  • Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment such as safety glasses & steel toe boots.

2nd shift works four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday), with overtime opportunities on Friday or Saturday. There is a 10% premium added to the hourly rate
