Job description

Math Teacher
Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a full-time, dedicated Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year beginning in August 2026. The Math Teacher will work under the supervision of the Principal as part of our comprehensive math department and teach five (5) sections of math each semester.
Major Responsibilities:
I. Instructional Planning amp; Delivery
a. Teach the curriculum reflecting knowledge of the subject matter (subject matter expert) and of specific learning styles of your students
b. Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
c. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions or activities
d. Compile, evaluate and/or grade students' class work reflecting learning styles of students
e. Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of curricula, course materials and methods of instruction.
f. Utilize up-to-date technology in lesson plans and classroom management
II. Classroom amp; Student Management
a. Manage the classroom to ensure successful learning for every student
b. Maintain contact with students and parents with effective and regular communication
III. Professional Growth amp; Content Expertise
a. Maintain expertise in field through ongoing professional development demonstrating a commitment to field of study or knowledge of learning styles
IV. Faith Formation
a. Embrace, display, and support Catholic/Christian values and spiritual formation.
b. Regular participation in Ignatian formation activities including the school’s formal formation program, school masses, retreats, and other activities/events as scheduled.
