JOB OVERVIEW

At Wellington Management you will continually learn, develop, and expand your skills. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join a strong, collaborative team in a role focusing on analysis with leadership and advancement opportunities on our Portfolio Controls Technology team. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people at all levels of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, prototype and code new user-facing applications and workflows based on functional specifications across the full stack - services, web, infrastructure, and back-end
  • Partner with business analysts, QA engineers, and Portfolio Analysts to lead the delivery of high-quality business solutions. This will include participating in architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support
  • Lead the development and implementation of solutions to enhance and streamline investor workflows
  • Work with business teams, project managers, and systems analysts to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans which will include building estimates, identifying issues, and raising risks
  • Work across various IT teams to coordinate and facilitate infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery testing, and cross-functional projects
  • Modify and enhance existing systems to incorporate new functionality and to optimize them for performance
  • Provide technical and leadership across initiatives to ensure capabilities are developed with the latest methods and to the highest standards
  • Provide guidance and mentoring for more junior team members
  • Author architecture, technical design, and support documentation and ensure the adherence to established code-quality standards
  • Implement AI-driven solutions to enhance workflows and optimize productivity
  • Ensure stability of production systems by implementing tools for observability, data quality and alerting, as well as providing hands-on support during on-call rotations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with solid accomplishments
  • Proficiency with Java, Python, and Node.JS
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
  • React is a plus
  • Experience in Financial Industry is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, user-facing solutions previously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience with AI technologies is a plus
  • Experience working withAgile methodologies, CI/CD tools (Jenkins or equivalent), version control (Git) and Orchestration tools
  • Experience operating in a DevOps environment with cloud technologies. Amazon Web Services is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, in an energetic, fast-paced, business-critical environment.

The base salary range for this position is:

USD 120,000 - 225,000

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salaryis only one component of Wellington's total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
