KCC is seeking smart, dynamic, and motivated candidates for our RiskInsightยฎ application team. RiskInsight is a distributed application for developing catastrophe risk models and managing catastrophe risk. Working with our model development teams, you will build software tools for creating and visualizing tropical cyclone, earthquake, flood and other catastrophe models.

Expected Salary Range: $85,000-$110,000
Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of maintaining and improving application functionality and performance
  • Develop/tune database queries to optimize application performance
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure application enhancements are both backward compatible and extensible
  • Work on extending front-end, middle-layer, and back-end components of a Windows application using Microsoft technologies

Qualifications
  • MS/BS degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience working with large and complex databases (MS SQL Server)
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and people skills
  • Must be flexible, a good listener, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Quantitative background (math/science/engineering) a plus
  • Insurance industry experience and/or exposure to natural hazard science a plus
