What is a maternity case manager?

A Maternity Case Manager is a healthcare professional who supports pregnant individuals throughout their pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period. They coordinate care by working with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure that both the mother and baby receive appropriate medical attention. Maternity Case Managers also provide education, emotional support, and help with navigating insurance or social services. Their goal is to promote healthy pregnancies and positive outcomes for families.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a maternity case manager?

A Maternity Case Manager requires a nursing or social work background, case management certification, and experience in maternal and child health. These competencies are vital to ensure positive health outcomes for mothers and infants while navigating complex healthcare systems.
