The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects for our company's customers. They will source and procure high quality goods and materials, ensuring delivery and progress in a timely manner and within budgetary constraints.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
โ€ข Manage and direct project engineer(s) and general superintendent(s).
โ€ข Complete documentation and conduct "redirection" sessions with project engineer(s) and general superintendent(s).
โ€ข Conduct and participate in formal hand-off meetings with project engineers and estimators on newly awarded/contracted projects.
โ€ข Analyze new project requirements.
โ€ข Visit all assigned project job sites to document progress, materials, and workers.
โ€ข Review all projects and ensure all critical milestones are tracking to completion by documented deadlines. This may entail additional work site visits and adjusting resources.
โ€ข Provide project status updates to management on a weekly basis.
โ€ข Work directly with general superintendents on assigned projects detailing status on project hours, project materials/equipment, subcontractors, and project schedule.
โ€ข Track all manpower needs of current project.
โ€ข Estimate and forecast manpower needs of projects in backlog.
โ€ข Procure materials/equipment to come in under budget with a high level of integrity and ethical practice.
โ€ข Review material fab sheets and determine if the material is to be outsourced or completed in-house based on budget and schedule.
โ€ข Conduct weekly review of purchase orders to identify correct pricing/billing, number of materials (over/under), ensuring materials are necessary for the project.
โ€ข Ensure all change orders have general contractor signatures before beginning work and inform general superintendent with change order status.
โ€ข Prepare for and attend monthly billing meetings.
โ€ข Prepare for and attend weekly project management meetings.
โ€ข Quality Control all assigned projects.
โ€ข Conduct internal walk-through and provide the general superintendent and foreman with detailed information on any issues/concerns/corrections that need to be completed.
โ€ข Verify PPE is being used by all employees on each site visit.
โ€ข Hold all site workers, including foremen and superintendents accountable to keep job sites clean and clear of unnecessary trash and clutter.
โ€ข Other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience:
โ€ข 3 years of previous experience with Project Management/Project engineer in the mechanical/plumbing industry.
โ€ข 3 years of Supervisory experience.
Competencies:
โ€ข Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
โ€ข Proficient at Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Blue Beam.
โ€ข Capable of reading blueprints and specifications.
โ€ข Superior organizational and time management skills.
โ€ข Must be detail oriented.
โ€ข Good understanding of project financials.
โ€ข Able to work independently or as part of a team.
โ€ข Must possess the ability to multitask.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.
Work Environment
This job operates in both an office and a field environment. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
