As a junior structural engineerย intern, you will be working on specific engineering design andย analysis tasks under the supervision of a structural engineer. The nature andย progression of the assignments and the level of responsibilities will depend on yourย performance and willingness to grow. Good communication and interpersonal skillsย are expected. Ability toย self-direct and to independently research technical solutions areย encouraged.ย 

Responsibilities
  • Assistsย other engineers in preparing project designs using the latest codes andย standards.ย 
  • Performs simple structural design and calculations as directed by seniorย engineers.ย 
  • ย Use design software, in-house spreadsheets,ย and prepare manualย calculation as required.ย 
  • Understand the limitations of software and can verify the software output.ย 
  • Preparesย basicย material take-off
  • Prepare reports,ย presentation asย directed by senior engineers.ย 
  • Follow up withย drafting staff to produce finished drawings from sketches and/or prepare structural drawings, sketches to a high standard.ย 
  • Follow company standards and procedures including design and checking.ย 
  • Performs other duties of similar nature andย level asย assigned.
  • Exhibits a willingness to assist mid and senior level engineers.
Requirements
  • ย Education:ย Currently enrolled or completed a bachelor's degreeย programย in Structural Engineering.
  • Experience:ย No minimum experience is required.
  • ย Knowledge & Interests:ย Introductory knowledge ofย engineeringย mechanics
  • Work Approach:ย Open-minded, able to follow instructions, and work under close supervision.
