Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies in an organization when the Materials Manager is absent by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the implementation of the corporate contracts. May enter information into Navision and validate its correctness.Organizes, supervises, and directs the work of storeroom and central supply personnel engaged in receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and equipment.Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices based on inventory needs after an inventory is taken.Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.Oversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.Interface with corporate purchasing on supplier problems and give feedback on supplier quality. Update corporate purchasing on new products used and specification changes.Work with Controller to make sure the Finance Policy 2100 is followed.Work with suppliers on invoice and payment issues.Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises the Counters. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Qualifications Proven experience in the materials departmentExperience in shipping and receivingFamiliarity with supply chain and inventory management systemsUnderstanding of forecasting and budgetingWorking knowledge of NavisionProficient in MS OfficeExcellent organizational and leadership skillsA problem-solverEducation and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B.
