Arconic is currently in search of a Materials Manager to join our Building and Construction Business based in Cranberry Township, PA.

Job Summary:

The Materials Manager position is responsible for the overall direction, management and coordination of all Materials processes for the Kawneer - Cranberry facility. Areas of responsibility include Purchasing (Direct/Indirect), Production Control/Planning, Line-side Material Supply, Logistics and Warehousing. This position requires taking action based on extensive knowledge of company policies, objectives and organizational structure, as well as effective communication at all levels of the organization. This position is under the direction of the location Director of Operations.

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution 

  • 5+ years of experience in a management role overseeing Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing or Warehousing Management, with progressive management responsibility of both salaried and hourly personnel

  • ERP Systems experience (JDE, Oracle)

  • Superior analytical, communication, leadership and decision-making skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Management or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Demonstrated experience in Production Planning, Sales Forecasting, S&OP / SIOP Process, Inventory Control, Warehouse Management, Lean manufacturing concepts for material movement

  • Data analysis through creation of PowerBI dashboards

  • CPIM certification

  • Six Sigma Green / Black Belt

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Lead by example, specifically with regard to the Arconic Values, EHS and HR policies.

  • Lead the Materials Organization: Purchasing, Production Planning, Inventory Control, Warehouse Operations and Shipping/Receiving teams.

  • Manage manufacturing planning and scheduling, raw material purchasing, shipping, etc. to ensure customer requirements are met on time. Review requirements for new orders or customer order changes to determine impact on production and capacity planning. Provide solutions to any conflict that may affect on-time delivery to the customer.

  • Drive continuous improvement in Materials functions: reducing lead times, improving forecast accuracy and increasing scheduling stability.

  • Review daily reports of shortages, delays and projected daily shipping schedules to identify opportunities to minimize late customer orders and maximize on-time delivery performance.

  • Develop and implement policies, plans and programs for the Materials functions in alignment with company strategy and corporate objectives related to cost and customer satisfaction. These responsibilities include monitoring and supporting product quality from distribution through manufacturing of parts.

  • Manage inventory and raw material requirements to meet production schedules. Establish and enforce appropriate inventory guidelines to satisfy customer order requirements and inventory turnover objectives.

  • Manage the activities and requirements of the Production Control department and coordinate these activities to ensure proper utilization of materials to meet customer and manufacturing requirements.

  • Develop team capabilities through hiring, training, performance management and succession planning across all Materials functions.

  • Provide leadership, direction and the necessary resources, infrastructure and processes to ensure effective sustainability in EHS Management within the departments or areas under his/her responsibility. 

  • Actively participate in EHS activities, demonstrating a genuine commitment to being involved, and integrating EHS considerations into all activities (new products or product changes, facilities, processes or equipment).

  • Other duties as needed to meet business objectives.
