Job Description: We are currently seeking a Material Coordinator to join our team! The Material Coordinator oversees the receiving, inventory, and distribution of materials for substation construction projects. This role ensures that materials meet quality standards and are delivered on time to support project schedules.

What You'll Do

Roles and Responsibilities:

Inventory Control and Management.

  • Identifying equipment/material shortages with supply chain management team.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of staged received material and equipment to report to Material Manager.
  • Ensure all procurement activities align with company safety policies and quality standards.
  • Regularly review supplier performance, discrepancies within material deliveries and report to management.
  • Be able to learn and utilize the material tracking tools such as Procore and ClearSpider.
  • Track inventory levels continuously for multiple jobsites, to maintain up to date status on individual projects.
  • Implement and oversee inventory management systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring deliveries match paperwork and anticipated quantities on a tracking tool.
  • Conduct inventory audits and address discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss.

Quality Management and Assurance

  • Establish and enforce quality standards for all incoming materials to meet project specifications.
  • Inspect incoming materials upon delivery, verifying compliance with quality criteria.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve any material quality issues that arise.
  • Maintain detailed records of material quality assessments, supporting quality control.
  • Work with material management and client to address and prevent recurring quality concerns.

Logistics Coordination and Distribution

  • Understand applicable safety and DOT requirements for handling, unloading or transportation of materials.
  • Coordinate the transportation and timely delivery of materials to job sites, optimizing logistics flow.
  • Work with logistics teams to plan efficient routing and delivery schedules, minimizing delays.
  • Ensure that materials are stored safely and securely on-site, supporting easy access for teams.

Reporting and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety, DOT and environmental regulations in material handling and storage.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to procurement, inventory, and material usage.
  • Provide timely updates to management on material status, cost variances, and supplier issues.
