Description
The Materials Management & Logistics Specialist serves as the primary materials readiness lead for assigned capital and construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring critical equipment and materials are visible, planned, tracked, expedited, and delivered in support of project milestones.
The specialist works closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, EPC contractors, suppliers, and project leadership to monitor long-lead equipment, manage material risks, identify schedule impacts, and implement recovery plans. Responsibilities include supplier oversight, logistics coordination, inventory planning, risk monitoring, readiness reporting, and executive-level communication.
Success in this role requires strong supply chain expertise, project coordination skills, leadership presence, and the ability to drive accountability across multiple stakeholders without direct authority.
Serve as the single point of accountability within Materials Management for material readiness across assigned capital projects and critical equipment categories.
Develop and maintain project-specific material readiness plans aligned to engineering requirements, purchase orders, construction milestones, scheduled need dates, and contractor execution plans.
Monitor delivery status for long-lead and critical-path equipment including transformers, breakers, switchgear, structures, conductor, cable, controls, and other strategic materials.
Track supplier commitments, manufacturing milestones, factory testing dates, shipment timing, logistics status, delivery forecasts, and site readiness requirements.
Identify schedule slippage, manufacturing constraints, quality holds, documentation gaps, logistics issues, and supplier risks before they impact construction execution.
