POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists Supply Chain Services function by developing and implementing project management tools with a focus on materials management, inventory control and new project set up for all customers at the facility. Supports the Manager in implementing tools for planning, production schedules, inventory management, customer service, logistics and delivery compliance.


Directs team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources. Makes recommendations for department improvement that improve efficiency and reduce cost related to inventory reductions, materials management and inventory control.

  • Essential Functions
  • Assigns new item purchases to Supply Chain Specialists and ensures the MRP set up for new items in the system which includes components, WIP and finished goods
  • Responsible for Bills of Material creation/completion (BOM) accuracy, scrap allowance, routing instructions, master lot control forms and placards for mater files
  • In PICK System: Prints initial Production Shop Orders for startup review and approvals. In SAP, ensures a start up review is done prior to production.
  • Organizes and notifies participants of new project start-up meetings to communicate expectations
  • Participates with New Project Implementation team for the (site) and participates in customer meetings and conference calls as needed
  • Direct contact to customer’s Materials Manager and change in material notifications
  • Confirms and ensure that the “change in materials” have been updated in the system and coordinate timing with the team including Supply Chain Manager indicating flow through or hard change
  • Ensures that critical set up and reporting of “ change in materials” is entered in the system and communicated to key stakeholders
  • Coordinate the change in material timing by monitoring forecast changes
  • Review scheduling material shortage report daily and responsible for working with the team on incoming product delivery validation
  • Actively manages inventory aging, date code variances and inventory reduction plans to ensure team engagement and minimize Company exposure
  • Responsible for making sure that inactive inventory is addressed and disposition is done timely throughout the team following standard work
  • Participate in Scrap Meetings and working with Inventory Specialist to verify of incoming shortages
  • Monitor /track vendor compliance and act on those underperforming and addresses performance improvement
  • Manage the Sales Samples coordination of materials with the team and updates to the customer working with commercialization partners
  • Manages material shortage reporting and problem-solving actions with customers and suppliers
  • Reports Inventory KPIs internally and externally
  • Works on inventory reductions plans with the Supply Chain Specialists and monitors success against the targets
  • Ensures that material order cycle, MOQ, and safety stock are revisited on regular basis and adjusted per the demand
  • Other responsibilities as directed by facility Supply Chain Manager and or Director.
  • Work Environment & Physical Demands

Office environment is pleasant. May need to access expansive, multi-level production areas which can be noisy and very cold or very warm. Required to go out to the floor, coordinate and participate in physical inventories and regular DDS plant meetings.

  • Education, Experience & Required Skills

Undergrad degree in Business or Supply Chain related discipline preferred or previous job experience which includes supervising employees for 2+ years.

Food Industry experience is preferred.

The pay range for this full-time, salaried position is $97,210 - $133,663/year. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
