Journeyman Carpenter
Company Overview Dietrich Construction is a premier self-performing General Contractor operating in the Fargo, ND / Moorhead, MN area. We pride ourselves on executing high-end craftsmanship, maintaining organized jobsites, and providing an exceptional client experience. We are currently looking for skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Journeyman Carpenters to join our growing team.
Position Summary As a Journeyman Carpenter, you will be a key hands-on builder responsible for delivering top-tier craftsmanship on our construction projects. This role focuses heavily on field execution while mentoring apprentices on site. You will work closely with the site foreman and project managers to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and up to our strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute High-End Carpentry: Perform expert-level framing, exterior trim, window/door installations, and intricate interior finish work.
  • Apprentice Mentorship: Guide junior carpenters and apprentices on proper techniques and safety protocols.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Occasionally read architectural blueprints accurately to execute layouts and installations without constant supervision.
  • Material Management: Assist in tracking material deliveries and minimizing waste on site.
  • Jobsite Safety: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and strictly adhere to all OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Quality Control: Help ensure all individual and team work aligns perfectly with building codes and design specs.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of professional carpentry experience, or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
  • Technical Skill: Mastery of residential and commercial framing, finish carpentry, and standard power tools.
  • Blueprints: Proven ability to read, interpret, and build accurately from architectural plans.
  • Logistics: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to navigate jobsites across the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay Range: $25.00+ (commensurate with experience).
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM (No mandatory weekends).
