POSITION SUMMARY

The role of Material Handling Team Lead directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As the Material Handling Team Lead you will be Working within the Plant Warehouse team, reporting to the Material Handling Manager, the Material Handling Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of Material Handling Operators in the daily operational activities of the plant warehouse.

The Material Handling Team Leader will work to ensure the flow of materials and products and efficient equipment handling. This role drives operational efficiency, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and facilitates effective communication between departments.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of Material Handling Operators, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and support training, coaching, and onboarding to build team capability.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and productive work environment with clear top-down and bottom-up communication.

Operational Execution

  • Oversee all warehouse functions including receiving, picking, packing, staging, shipping, and material flow to support uninterrupted production.
  • Ensure materials and finished products are handled, protected, and transferred accurately and on time according to established guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.

Inventory & Systems Management

  • Ensure accurate logging of all incoming and outgoing materials within the system to maintain real-time inventory accuracy.
  • Assist with cycle counts, stock checks, and inventory audits.
  • Support troubleshooting of inventory discrepancies, material damage, or delays.

Safety & Compliance

  • Implement and uphold warehouse safety policies, PPE requirements, and OSHA/HSE standards.
  • Identify hazards, report incidents, and support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure safe operation of material handling equipment.
  • Participate in and contribute to continuous improvement and shop floor management initiatives.
  • Help implement process improvements to optimize logistics and warehouse operations.

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • High School Degree or GED required
  • 2 years of warehouse experience required.
  • 2 years of Forklift experience required.
  • 3 years of overhead crane experience required.
  • 1 year of leadership experience (preferred).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and support positive work environment.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for data entry, document creation, and basic data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to update inventory records, track material movements, and generate reports.
  • Strong command of the English language to communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to make sound decisions, elevate issues appropriately and coordinate daily tasks effectively.
  • Training & Coaching of members.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, OSHA requirements and ANSI, and site-specific safety regulations.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ensure efficient warehouse operations.
  • Strong teamwork skills to foster a positive work environment and promote cooperation among warehouse staff.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of 8 hours.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, climbing and repetitive movements.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Valid Driver’s License required or Must be able to pass a vision test to safely drive a forklift.
  • Understanding of ISO 9000:2000 Quality System is a plus.
  • Working at heights.
  • Must be able to work in hot, cold or variable warehouse environments.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and readiness for shifts.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver's license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
