Job Description:
As a Material Handler, you will receive, identify, transport, store and deliver a wide variety of raw materials and manufactured/purchased parts for additional processing, assembly, machining, or direct shipments. You will also perform different roles: labeling, packing, and loading items for shipments according to specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Operate materials handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, ladders, hand trucks, overhead cranes, or dollies to move stock or organize storage.
  • Work from shop orders, receiving reports, material requisitions, repair order lists and/or verbal instructions to identify disposition of materials.
  • Assist with receiving, identifying, issuing, and storing material/parts in established location using appropriate identification method.
  • Fill and distribute basic material and repair orders.
  • Label, pack, and load items for shipment according to specifications
  • Unload of incoming trucks as directed; inspect for damage; compare items and quantities received against freight bills.
  • Maintain records of all items received and shipped.
  • Perform cycle count to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Detect defective materials, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor.
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste responsibly in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements (USA only). Correctly label and date hazardous waste drums and transfer to authorized waste vendor.
  • Recognize spills/leaks and handle as trained and in accordance with company policy.
  • Attending team meetings; may provide input on quality, cost, or production issues.
  • Communicate effectively and interact with other team members.
  • Attend work regularly at the worksite and on any assigned shift or work schedule is required for this position, as is the ability to work overtime.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in clean and orderly fashion.
  • Work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Forklift Certification preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 6+ months of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • 18 years old at the time of hire to operate equipment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • 1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Programs and data entry.
