Reports To: Production Supervisor / Materials Manager

Position Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and staging of raw materials, components, and finished goods used in the manufacturing of generator enclosures. This role supports production by ensuring materials are delivered to the correct workstations in a timely manner and that inventory is handled accurately throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate has experience in a heavy fabrication or manufacturing environment and is comfortable operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Move raw materials, fabricated components, and finished generator enclosure parts throughout the facility.
  • Stage materials for fabrication, welding, and assembly departments according to production schedules.
  • Load and unload trucks, verifying quantities and inspecting materials for damage.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, or other material handling equipment safely.
  • Maintain organized material storage areas and ensure proper labeling and identification of materials.
  • Deliver parts and materials to designated workstations to support production flow.
  • Assist with inventory control including cycle counts and material tracking.
  • Ensure materials are stored according to safety and quality standards.
  • Communicate material shortages or discrepancies to supervisors or purchasing.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations when needed.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Follow company procedures and work instructions for handling heavy steel components used in enclosure fabrication.
