Material Handler IV

A global, family-owned manufacturer of coated and laminated films and adhesives, products are used as functional components in manufactured goods and in graphics applications. Since 1956, Flexcon has supplied products for a wide range of industries including packaging, medical devices, automotive, durable labeling and more.

We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Material Handler IV role. This role is part of a career lattice where our employees get rewarded and recognized for cross training and learning new skills. Team Members will be cross trained based on various tasks in support of production operations.

What will you do in this role?

Material Handling:

  • Operates Forklifts and reach trucks
  • Maintains a forklift license
  • Complete work orders from systems or following verbal and written instructions.
  • Check schedule and machines for list of materials needed.
  • Transport requested materials to appropriate departments for production use or shipping/receiving.
  • Sort materials for optimal use of warehouse space.
  • Maintain daily inventory records.
  • Report any damage of orders to supervisor.
  • Perform simple maintenance on forklift tractor; check battery, radiator, and oil fluids.
  • Maintain equipment, clean machine, and work area.

Packing:

  • Provide daily tracking of all packaging supplies for the finishing department and related supplies.
  • Package sheeting and slitting orders; boxing, palletizing, suspending, banding, etc.
  • Check all rolls for Quality
  • Ensure rolls are packaged in a quality manner.
  • Perform re-packaging of products not conforming to the customer and/or companies quality specifications.
  • Operate material handling/lifting equipment: Dalmec, C Hook, Big Joe, and Pallet Jack.
  • Operate bar code gun.
  • Move within packing area as work demands.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

Typically requires a High School Diploma or GED and no related experience

Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn ERP system
