Job Title: Junior Estimator – Lumber & Building Materials

Location: Minneapolis, MN (In-Office Position)

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a Junior Estimator to join our Minneapolis team. This is an in-office position where you’ll help with takeoffs and estimating for residential and multifamily projects, with a focus on lumber and related building materials. This opportunity is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to learn, grow, and contribute within a supportive and experienced team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with material takeoffs from construction drawings and project plans.
  • Prepare and review estimates and material lists for lumber and building materials.
  • Learn and apply estimating software (Planswift strongly preferred or Bluebeam).
  • Work with sales staff, project managers, and customers to ensure estimates meet project needs.
  • Support senior estimators and gain exposure to best practices in estimating.
  • Stay organized with project files, ensuring accuracy in quantities and pricing.


Qualifications:

  • 1–5 years of experience in estimating, construction supply, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of or interest in lumber and construction methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings.
  • Familiarity with estimating/takeoff software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong math skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
  • Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
