Responsibilities
* Develop, qualify, deploy, and sustain nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods for engine components.
* Support inspection technologies including Eddy Current, Ultrasonic Testing, Radiography (X-ray), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection, Thermal methods, and Visual Inspection.
* Train and support internal manufacturing teams, suppliers, customers, and external partners on approved NDT procedures and inspection requirements.
* Provide technical oversight and troubleshooting for NDE processes used in development, production, overhaul, and repair environments.
* Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure inspection processes meet design intent, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
* Support qualification of new components, materials, suppliers, and inspection technologies.
* Evaluate inspection data, assess indications, and provide engineering disposition or recommendations for nonconformances.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection capability, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
* Travel as required to support customers, suppliers, and inspection deployments at domestic and international locations.
Education and experience
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Materials Science.
* Advanced degree is preferred
* 5+ years of relevant experience in nondestructive evaluation, materials engineering, or related aerospace engineering roles
* Experience supporting aerospace engine programs in development and production environments is a plus
* Experience training external suppliers or customers on NDT methods and procedures (preferred)
Skills and Knowledge
* U.S. person status required due to government contracting requirements.
* Knowledge of multiple NDT methods and their application to aerospace hardware.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.
* Familiarity with aerospace regulatory and industry standards related to nondestructive evaluation and quality systems is preferred.
