We are seeking a talented Quality Control Supervisor II to join our team at Sensient Agricultural Ingredients in Livingston, CA. The Quality Control Supervisor II is responsible for supervision of the SAI Livingston QC leads and QC technicians, as well as ensuring laboratory equipment is being maintained and calibrated properly.  The QC Supervisor II is also responsible to ensure that applicable regulatory, customer, and GFSI standards or requirements are met

What you'll do:

  • Manage scheduling for QC technicians to ensure coverage for production support, equipment calibration, product traceability, raw material, product sampling and testing, pre-operational inspections, and other special projects.
  • Hire, train, supervise and develop QC Leads and Technicians to ensure that they fully understand and adhere to food safety and quality-systems programs and SOPs while ensuring proper staff coverage.
  • Assist in the implementation of new policies and procedures, and lead efforts to improve quality methods, equipment, SOP, and working conditions.
  • Purchase laboratory supplies and parts to maintain operations within budgeted levels.
  • Maintain data input to information systems that provide quality data/KPI to various teams as well as compile, analyze, and communicate quality and food safety related information to the management team.
  • Participate in and support plant and lab programs to promote safety and ensure regulatory compliance while working with production, maintenance, and sanitation to resolve Quality issues.
  • Participate in root cause investigations related to internal quality concern and customer complaint and assist with product traceability.
  • Regularly audit production areas to ensure all quality and safety programs are being followed and ensure corrective actions are carried out properly.
  • Ensure that the company's hold and release program is properly implemented.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

What you'll bring:

  • B.S. Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field. Significant related college course work and/or work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of QC/QA experience in the food industry. Knowledge of GFSI/BRC audit requirements, HACCP, FSMA, Internal Auditing, GMPs. Must be HACCP and PCQI certified. Prior supervisory experience is a must.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to develop positive working relationships; PC literacy (Microsoft Office, database applications), ability to operate and maintain lab equipment, working knowledge of total quality management principals. Spanish is a plus

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.
