Position Description
The Senior Shipping Clerk reports directly to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager. This position coordinates the proper storage and timely shipment of products and materials from the plant. Receiving materials are properly accounted for and located in the facility. The incumbent also works with the warehouse department to insure these activities are done properly. In addition, all EDI and SAP transmissions are entered and monitored by this position. Ensure SAP transactions are completed timely and accurately to ensure accurate inventory. Conduct cycle counts as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
  • Print all Bills of Lading.
  • Enter receivers in SAP.
  • Schedule common carriers for daily ship and weekly shipments.
  • Schedule common carriers for receiving materials.
  • Download and send EDI messages such as advance shipping notices.
  • Prepare customer forms.
  • Send and receive UPS and other special delivery packages.
  • Maintain shipping log.
  • Check for missing or damaged freight. Makes appropriate freight claim if required.
  • Is cross trained in other Materials Control duties.
  • Performs other Material Control duties as requested, such as part inventory in warehouse and/or getting receivers signed by drivers at various receiving docks.
  • Perform Continuous Improvement responsibilities as assigned
  • Utilize and Expand Bar Code Scanning as required

Required Education & Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years shipping experience preferred.
  • SAP experience.
  • Candidate must have good communication skills and be detail oriented
