Job description


HPC Fire Inspiredtm is a distributor of gas log repair components as well as a manufacturer of outdoor gas appliances, water features and accessories for over 40 years. We produce various shapes and sizes of gas fire pit inserts distributed in North America and abroad that offer numerous forms of control technologies. Our office and manufacturing facility are located in Dayton, Ohio employing ~60 associates. Although the foundation of the company was built in the Hearth industry, we also cover Pool & Spa, Landscape, Hardscape, Outdoor dining, and other industries.

Tru-Fab Inc has provided military and commercial fabrication solutions since 1978, their advanced technology allows them to complete any job with precision tolerance.


Basic Function: This position is responsible to set up and operate equipment/machines used to fabricate sheet metal components made from steel, aluminum, and stainless steel and to assure that the parts are being produced to the drawing specifications. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with limited supervision and must show willingness to be developed to operate a full range of machinery.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Layout, cut, fit, measure and weld materials per blueprint specifications.
  • Knowledge of specific welding processes, such as TIG, MIG and ARC on aluminum, stainless and other materials
  • Read and interpret blueprints; ability to recognize welding symbols and specifications.
  • Sets-up and operate fabricating machines such as band saw, drill presses, and brake presses.
  • Blueprint reading and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Review work instructions to see which materials are needed to complete orders.
  • De-burr, grind and finish with hand tools or power equipment
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to customer specifications using proper metrology equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following all safety standards and requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as required.
  • Uphold company standards and procedures to maintain our commitment to quality.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

    • High school diploma and/or trade school experience
    • 3 years’ experience in fabrication and welding operations
    • Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment.
    • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
