Position Summary
Plans, schedules, and manages the efficient movement of material from receiving or the warehouse to production. This role is also responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures and material control systems activities related to material control and inventory control functions. Ensures materials are ordered and in stock while maintaining acceptable inventory levels. Develops material schedules and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering.
• Develops raw material requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules and plans and manages material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production.
• Coordinates incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials, finished products and parts to ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules; may use Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
• Compiles data on order volume, production schedules and forecasts and applies statistical methods to estimate future materials requirements; may negotiate lead times with suppliers and manage schedules for timely delivery.

  • Works on problems of moderate scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher level professionals.
  • Applies research towards the planning, design development, testing, and completion of projects.

Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
