Job description

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for Shipping and Receiving, storage, shipping and transport of materials from Suppliers, Vendors, and Third-Party warehouse to production areas including the maintenance of inventory control, material cycle count, physical inventory and inventory ERP data transactions.

Schedule: This position is in-office Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday in our new Burlington, MA location.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs Manufacturing Support activities in accordance with established SOPs, cGMPs, and safety regulations.
  • Receives and distributes all Quality Controlled inspected and non-Quality Control inventoried material and general goods received at the Vericel site.
  • Loads and unloads delivery vehicles and assembles stock onto pallets, warehouse trucks, racks, bins, shelves, refrigerators and freezers.
  • Opens cartons, bundles, and other containers and moves stock onto pallets, warehouse trucks, racks, bins, shelves refrigerators and freezers.
  • Stores, transfers and distributes material in accordance with specific material requirements.
  • With help from the Lead or Manager, completes material In-Transit Requests within ERP system for material deliveries from Third Party off-site storage location.
  • Maintains inventory control in ERP system by performing system transactions at time of material receipt, storage and distribution.
  • Performs routine inventory cycle counts and regular media counts.
  • Participates in scheduled annual physical inventory activities.
  • Maintains LN2 and CO2 systems including weekly manual fills of Liquid Nitrogen Cryovials Storage Dewars.
  • Coordinates preparation of Vericel Biopsy assemblies including ERP transactions.
  • Performs Biopsy Accessioning activities (Receipt and Inspection) processes.
  • Completes inventory sales orders fulfillment requests and performs end of day closing activities.
  • Can print and label EBR requirements for received items.
  • Interacts with various groups (QA, R&D, QC, Materials Management,โ€ฏValidations, Facilities & Engineering, Accounting, Third Party Logistics and Customer Care) on material requests and receipt transactions.
  • If needed, resolves inventory discrepancies and performs applicable ERP transactions.
  • Performs additional activities as required to support manufacturing operations demands.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3+years of related experience working in a cGMP environment in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.โ€ฏ
  • Experience in high volume and fast-paced materials and manufacturing support environment.
  • Experience with MS Office.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP and Quality Systems.
  • Experience operating motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Organizational planning skills and the ability to collaborate with others in a team environment.

Working Condition and Physical Demands:

  • May be required to work in classified and controlled areas such as clean room environment wearing special garments. Additionally, personal protective equipment must be worn due to safety requirements.
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing physical duties.โ€ฏ
  • May be required to lift, push or pull up to 40 lbs.โ€ฏ
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and overtime as required to meet production demands.

The salary range Vericel reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting is $24.00 to $28.00 an hour.
The actual salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidateโ€™s qualifications, experience, and skills. Bonus, incentive pay, equity and benefits may be provided in addition to the base compensation listed above.
