Job description

Description:

The Materials Control Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of a team responsible for packaging, labeling, and documenting product shipments, as well as managing the physical material flow with associated transactions within a GMP manufacturing environment. This position requires a high sense of urgency, strong accountability, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The incumbent promotes a culture of compliance, collaboration and accountability.


  • Oversee inventory control functions, including receipt, verification, physical inventory, for all stockrooms across multiple local manufacturing plants.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving of all products and materials, check that method of shipment meets customer satisfaction and ensure product quality.
  • Experience working within an ERP/MRP system in a manufacturing environment, preferably Acumatica
  • Proven experience in lot/serial number inventory control and work order driven manufacturing environments.
  • Partner daily with Manufacturing Operations to help set priorities, manage constraints, and resolve execution issues.
  • Support reporting and visibility related to material status, shortages, and schedule performance.
  • Expedite materials to facilities and coordinate closely with Procurement, Inventory Control, and Production.
  • Maintain accountability for inventory record accuracy, material readiness and work order closures.
  • Keeps track of material shortages, work orders in staging and on the production floor to ensure timely material delivery and accuracy of on-hand inventory balances on a routine basis.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in a regulated manufacturing environment such as GMP, FDA, ISO, ITAR.
  • Work closely with Accounting and Finance to resolve purchase price variance and material usage.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
  • Leads and coaches a team of 3-5 Material Associates across several sites.
  • Maintains security of stores and its contents supporting two shift operations.
  • All other duties as directed by Manager
Requirements:

Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience

  • Minimum seven yearsโ€™ work experience in a regulated manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Understanding of storeroom operations and safeguards desirable.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office including familiarity with Excel
  • Experience working with a Quality Management System; ISO 13485 FDA GMP
  • Experience using MRP (Material Requirement Planning) Software, preferably Acumatica.

Education Requirements

Minimum associateโ€™s degree is preferred or High School Diploma, or combination of education and experience.
