FACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIES

This position provides leadership and coordination across admissions, curriculum implementation, student success, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives to support the ongoing success of the Health Care Aide Program. The role leads complex, multi-stakeholder projects that support enrollment stability, student outcomes, program sustainability, and alignment with provincial and institutional requirements. Working closely with the Office of the Registrar, program leadership, faculty, government, and regulatory bodies, the incumbent leads strategic initiatives, including admissions pathway enhancements and curriculum transitions, while using data-informed decision-making to support continuous improvement. The position is responsible for developing and implementing student success initiatives, monitoring outcomes against provincial benchmarks, and identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery for domestic and international learners. It also coordinates curriculum transitions, system integrations, and program changes to ensure effective implementation and learner progression across pathways. As a key liaison with government and regulatory organizations, the role supports compliance, accreditation, program approval, and quality assurance requirements. In addition, the position oversees the Health Care Aide bursary program and supervises staff responsible for administering and distributing funding across Alberta, ensuring accountability, equitable allocation, and timely reporting. Through strategic leadership, collaboration, and operational oversight, the role strengthens program quality, supports growth, and enhances organizational effectiveness.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Lead the implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Admissions Requirements Pilot, including the development of processes, reporting, data analysis, and admissions pathway recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Office of the Registrar, program leadership, and key stakeholders to collect, analyze, and report on admissions, enrolment, student success, and program performance metrics.
  • Lead the implementation of the 2026 provincial Health Care Aide (HCA) curriculum, including curriculum transition planning, faculty readiness activities, and management of the 2019 curriculum sunset.
  • Support student transitions across program pathways and coordinate system integrations and updates, including PeopleSoft and Misewe, to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality assurance requirements by coordinating evidence collection, reporting activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead responses to accreditation findings, align implementation timelines and reporting requirements, and support strategies that strengthen program quality and sustainability.
  • Provide administrative leadership and strategic support across key initiatives by determining implementation strategies, prioritizing operational activities, recommending policy and process improvements, and enabling coordination across stakeholders.
  • Design and implement student success interventions and develop innovative approaches to curriculum implementation, program transition, and learner support.
  • Provide oversight of the provincial HCA bursary program, including supervising and supporting staff, determining workflow priorities, ensuring accurate distribution of funds, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor bursary program performance, compliance, financial accountability, and reporting requirements; recommend process improvements and prepare reports for Primary and Preventive Health Services and the Government of Alberta.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor degree in education, health, or related field (minimum); Masters preferred.
  • 5-7 years in post-secondary administration or program management.
  • Experience with curriculum implementation and regulatory environments.
  • Knowledge and experience teaching in a Health Care Aide Program.
  • Experience supervising staff and coordinating provincially funded programs.
  • Experience with grant, bursary, or funding administration and reporting requirements.
