Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly organized Human Resources Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Human Resources Department. This position is responsible for managing employee records, supporting the hiring and onboarding process, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring personnel files are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and previous human resources or administrative experience, preferably within the home care or healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Human Resources Department.
  • Manage the recruitment, pre-hire, onboarding, and orientation processes.
  • Review employment applications and pre-hire documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct and monitor criminal background checks, registry checks, exclusion screenings, and other required employment verifications.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry into company systems.
  • Create, maintain, update, and audit employee and field-staff personnel files.
  • Ensure required licenses, certifications, health screenings, training records, and other credentials remain current.
  • Track expiring documents and follow up with employees to obtain updated information.
  • Complete internal audits and prepare employee files for state, federal, payer, and organizational reviews.
  • Assist with employee evaluations, disciplinary documentation, attendance matters, and corrective actions.
  • Respond professionally to employee questions and provide guidance regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee records while protecting confidential and sensitive information.
  • Support staffing, payroll, nursing, and management departments with employee-related documentation.
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and enforcing Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws, home care regulations, company policies, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Complete general clerical duties, including scanning, filing, copying, emailing, answering telephone calls, preparing correspondence, and organizing records.
  • Perform additional Human Resources and administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Human Resources, employee onboarding, compliance, office administration, or a related position.
  • Strong data-entry, filing, documentation, and record-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify missing or expired documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information appropriately.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, electronic record systems, and standard office equipment.
  • Knowledge of background checks, pre-employment screening, employee-file requirements, and basic Human Resources practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Human Resources experience in home care, home health, healthcare, or a regulated service industry.
  • Experience preparing personnel files for audits or regulatory surveys.
  • Knowledge of Georgia home care employee requirements and credentialing standards.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Human Resources certification is preferred but not required.
