Assistant/Associate Position in Counseling Psychology
The Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in our APA-accredited Counseling Psychology doctoral program. We seek to hire an outstanding candidate whose research reflects and would enhance the social justice and multicultural emphasis of the program. The nationally ranked Department of Educational Psychology contains four program areas: Counseling Psychology; School Psychology (both APA accredited); Human Development, Culture & Learning Sciences; and Quantitative Methods. The broad focus of the department is scholarship related to health and learning throughout the life span. The department is committed to a diverse and inclusive working and learning environment. We are seeking candidates whose research, teaching, and service have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, inclusivity and excellence. We welcome applications from scholars with a record of research that employs diverse research methods and a record of research with minoritized populations. Applicants should also have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring with a focus on enhancing equity and inclusion in the field and in practice. Teaching requirements are flexible, although there is a need for teaching expertise in the areas of multicultural research and multicultural counseling.

The Counseling Psychology program offers a doctoral degree in counseling psychology and the Counselor Education program grants master's degrees in counselor education, with students admitted to each degree program separately. Faculty in the Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education programs contribute to instruction of students in both the master's and doctoral degree tracks.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications for the Assistant Professor position:

• A Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology or related field earned by August, 2023.
• Potential for scholarly excellence research focused on social justice and multiculturalism.
• High potential for securing extramural research funding.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, including specific emphasis on incorporating social justice, multiculturalism, and intersectionality into teaching.
• License-eligible as a psychologist in Texas.
• Capacity to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds and advance the College's mission of equity and excellence.

Required Qualifications for the Associate Professor position:

• A Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology or related field.

• Record of securing extramural research funding.
• Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, including specific emphasis on incorporating social justice, multiculturalism, and intersectionality into teaching.
• License-eligible as a psychologist in Texas.
