POSITION TITLE: Mathematics Adjunct


CAMPUS/DEPARTMENT:Ranger/Mathematics


GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:Teach general courses in the approved discipline. Maintain familiarity with and adhere to college policies and procedures. Provide instruction and an effective learning environment to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified in the syllabi of the assigned course. Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree in Mathematics or Masters degree with 18+ graduate hours in Mathematics
  • 1-3 years experience teaching required, experience teaching in higher education preferred
  • Experience with Canvas preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and advance computing skills required


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Responsible for preparing and delivering lectures, leading and moderating classroom discussions, and administering and grading examinations
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Establish an environment that encourages student learning.
  • Travel to satellite campus locations to teach classes-- required
  • Performs other related duties as directed
