Reports to: Senior Program Director
Department: Emergency Shelter and Housing Solutions
Region: Corona
Job Summary: The Regional Director's primary responsibilities include program management, program development, and community relations. This entails oversight of the Harrison Hope Center, Housing Solutions, navigation, case management (if applicable), and any additional programs within the region. This position is responsible for leading the team to meet the programs' goals, increase staffs' professional development, and assure quality control of services. This position will ensure that the team in the assigned region(s) is practicing trauma informed and client focused strategies. This position requires a flexible schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Oversight
Goal: Ensure that our programs run smoothly accomplishing program outcomes, maintaining accurate data and strong communication with community partners.
  • Oversee identified Programs to ensure appropriate placement, effective services, and housing focus
  • Oversee the regular monitoring of case files and data bundles to ensure accuracy and compliance with program requirements
  • Assists with case management, client issues, and client conflict resolution when necessary
  • Assist with Community and Resident meetings
  • Oversee the scheduling and coordination of the Shelter Sites with Shelter Administrative Manager
  • Oversee coordination of shelter activities and distribution of services
  • Oversee implementation of new services
  • Provide monthly reports to the Chief Program Officer and Senior Programs Director
  • Monitor, and manage program budgets for the assigned region; review expenses regularly, support forecasting, ensure spending aligns with contract and organizational requirements, and identify budget variances or fiscal risks in a timely manner

Staff Management
Goal: Manage reporting staff to facilitate optimal performance.
  • Manage and supervise direct staff
  • Provide support and guidance when necessary
  • Coordinate trainings and orientations when needed
  • Conduct Team Meetings when necessary
  • Meet with identified staff individually at least once a month
  • Review and evaluate performances
  • Conduct midyear and annual reviews

Miscellaneous
  • Develop new partnerships with other agencies to enhance our current services
  • Oversee implementation of new services
  • Participate in networking functions
  • Attend staff meetings and training workshops as needed
  • Enhance job performance by applying up-to-date professional knowledge gained by attending seminars and conferences and reviewing professional publications
  • Supervise and train on-site volunteers as needed
  • Perform ad hoc projects as appointed by supervisor

Status: Full-Time, Exempt/Salary
Pay Range: $82,000 - $85,000/year
Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • (Weekends, evenings, and/or availability to respond to crisis situations may be required depending on programmatic needs.)

Requirements:
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field
  • Certifications such as FEMA's Incident Command System (ICS), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), or relevant Red Cross or disaster response training preferred
  • Extensive experience in emergency response, disaster relief, crisis management, or a related area may sometimes substitute for formal education, depending on the organization's requirements
  • Leadership experience in managing teams, volunteers, and cross-functional staff during crisis situations
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, government agency, or humanitarian organization that focuses on disaster relief, crisis services, or community support

  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population; plan, organize and prioritize duties; speak effectively before small groups; perform crisis intervention as needed; clearly communicate information and instructions verbally and in written form; maintain a positive, professional and safe environment while on duty; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
