Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist - Dover, Delaware
Job Type: Permanent | Direct Hire
Working Hours: Full-Time | 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Department: Pharmacy / Emergency Medicine
The Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist provides direct, advanced clinical pharmacy services within the Emergency Department (ED). This role supports safe, timely, and effective medication use for acute and critically ill patients and serves as an integral member of the emergency care team.
The pharmacist collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize pharmacotherapy, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve patient outcomes in a fast-paced emergency care environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide real-time clinical pharmacy support within the Emergency Department
  • Review, verify, and optimize medication therapy for emergency and critical care patients
  • Participate in emergency responses, codes, and rapid clinical decision-making
  • Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff on medication selection, dosing, and safety
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices
  • Support medication-related education for clinical staff as needed
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, reporting, and intervention tracking
  • Promote medication safety initiatives and quality improvement efforts
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Active Delaware Pharmacist License or eligibility to obtain
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy

  • Minimum 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience
