Healthcare Finance Decision Support Manager - StrataJazz / Cost Accounting / Forecasting

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Finance Decision Support Manager with strong StrataJazz / STRATA, hospital finance, cost accounting, budgeting, and financial forecasting experience.

This position will lead healthcare financial decision support activities including service line profitability, physician practice P&Ls, cost accounting, productivity reporting, financial modeling, rolling forecasts, reimbursement analysis, and strategic financial planning.

Candidates should have significant experience working within a hospital, health system, or healthcare organization and hands-on experience with StrataJazz or STRATA Decision Support software.

This is an onsite management position in Dover, Delaware.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the healthcare Decision Support and Cost Accounting system, including STRATA / StrataJazz.
  • Support and maintain StrataJazz Decision Support, Cost Accounting, Budgeting, and Forecasting functions.
  • Prepare monthly service line Profit & Loss statements (P&Ls) and physician practice P&Ls.
  • Analyze hospital and service line profitability, expenses, reimbursement, and financial performance.
  • Develop financial feasibility studies for strategic initiatives and capital projects.
  • Perform financial modeling including:
    • ROI
    • NPV
    • IRR
    • Payback period
    • Cost analysis
    • Reimbursement analysis
  • Assist with implementation and ongoing maintenance of the STRATA rolling forecast module.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, productivity reporting, and financial variance analysis.
  • Partner with hospital leadership to review service line financial performance and unfavorable budget variances.
  • Develop financial and operational performance improvement recommendations.
  • Validate healthcare cost structures and cost allocation methodologies.
  • Generate financial reports supporting annual audits, cost reports, community benefit reporting, GME reporting, FEMA reporting, and Single Audits.
  • Provide financial information for external reporting and rating agencies including S&P, Fitch, DAC, and EMMA.
  • Train hospital managers and directors on productivity and financial decision support tools.
  • Manage ad hoc financial analysis and executive reporting requests.
  • Support ERP, financial system, leasing software, and decision support implementations.
  • Mentor Decision Support and financial analysis staff.
  • Work closely with Finance, Accounting, Revenue Cycle, Operations, Reimbursement, and executive leadership.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Healthcare Finance
    • Hospital Finance
    • Decision Support
    • Cost Accounting
    • Budgeting
    • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
    • Financial Forecasting
  • Hands-on experience with STRATA or StrataJazz financial software.
  • Strong healthcare or hospital industry experience.
  • Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting.
  • Experience with hospital cost accounting and service line profitability.
  • Experience developing financial feasibility studies and financial models.
  • Strong knowledge of ROI, NPV, IRR, and capital investment analysis.
  • Strong Excel, analytical, reporting, and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience presenting financial information to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, MHA, Master's in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
