Summary
A Master Welder is a top-tier welding professional with deep, proven expertise across all welding processes. This individual not only meets, but exceeds the highest standards required of a Fabrication Welder. With multiple advanced qualifications in each process, the Master Welder brings exceptional craftsmanship, consistency, and technical precision to every project. A Master Welder will support company goals through outstanding productivity and quality, actively seek opportunities to improve workflows, and help guide & lead others through actions, not words. Reliability is a hallmark of this role, impeccable attendance, strong professionalism, and a clean disciplinary record are essential.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, not required.
  • Vocational diploma or training in welding a plus not required
  • Experience welding with exotic materials
  • Minimum 5 years' experience to be eligible for this role

Essential Functions
Essential functions, as defined under the American with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not comprehensive listing of all function and tasks performed by position in this class.   • Have mastered and have excellent proven understanding of all of the processes performed by ETW.
  • This includes passing weld qualification tests for the following but is not limited to: GTAW, GTAW-P, Tri-Pulse, SMAW, SAW, PAW, GMAW or FCAW
  • Ability to perform open root welding in fixed positions.
  • Ability to work with a variety of exotic materials (i.e.: Aluminum, Carbon Steel, Copper, Stainless Steel, etc.)
  • Leads the workforce on assigned shifts with a high focus on quality
  • Takes ownership over the results of work performed and defines the requirements of work instructions, welding procedures and supervisor/team lead direction.
  • Always keep a neat and tidy work area. All tools to be neatly stored and kept in good condition.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleaning of both your area and other areas of the shop when assigned, this includes taking out trash, sweeping, mopping & straightening.
  • Grind, polish, wire wheel and prepare parts for welding as instructed.
  • Use cleaners to clean parts before welding.
  • Can read and understand blueprints and welding drawings to properly lay out parts.
  • Can perform math including algebra and basic trigonometry.
  • Can fully read and understand welding procedures.
  • Can communicate and job instructions and direct fitter helper with project assignments
  • Maintain an impeccable attendance record with ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as necessary
  • Demonstrates teamwork and the ability to work effectively with coworkers, supervisors, managers, customers, third party representatives and others as required.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with company safety and quality policies.
  • Trains and mentors lower-level employees
  • Can act as Team Leader in day-to-day operations when needed.
  • Follow daily procedures and protocols as provided in job orientations and trainings.
  • Understands and drives company objectives to the team members
