Job Description:

What will you work on?

This Packaging Designer position is 70% execution and 30% new brand concept and other brand extensions. This person in this role is generally responsible for package design through production on 2 to 3 core Licensed brands 70% of the time and works on other brands and / or new brand concepts 30% of the time.

This is a contract position with opportunity to become permanent. This role is 4 days per week in our Los Angeles office
How will you create impact?

  • Working under the direction of the Art Director and Creative Director of Packaging, you will create packaging design concepts that support brand strategy.
  • Create final artwork and ensure integrity of production deliverables relating to packaging and instructions.
  • Manage the timelines of the projects assigned to you.
  • Follow established approval procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain a consistent high level of quality, thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Effectively communicate all project related progress/issues or concerns to the Art Director in a timely and professional manner.
  • Solicit creative direction from the Art Director in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Structural Engineering, Marketing, Quality Control and Product Development teams as well as overseas agents, as necessary, in the package development and approval process.
  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies within your area of expertise.


What are your skills and experience?

  • Experience in the consumer products industry; toy package design preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat PRO.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and Outlook
  • Heightened creative and technical abilities including conceptual drawing, and manual illustration a plus.

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in California is $42 to $50 Per Hour. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
