The Thrive Wellness Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and fully licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role will primarily focus on providing comprehensive care for individuals battling substance abuse challenges. You will engage with clients through remote therapy sessions as well as in our outpatient office setting, making a meaningful impact in their recovery journeys.

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients’ substance abuse histories, mental health statuses, and unique treatment needs.
• Develop tailored treatment plans that address both the addiction and any underlying mental health concerns.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that utilize evidence-based methods such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, and case managers, to ensure holistic and integrated care for all clients.
• Educate and support clients’ families, promoting their involvement in the recovery process.
• Maintain confidential and accurate client records in compliance with ethical guidelines and regulatory standards.

Your primary focus will be individuals struggling with substance abuse, many of whom may also face co-occurring mental health disorders. This population often requires a unique and sensitive approach to therapy, as they are navigating complex emotional landscapes as they seek recovery. Understanding their experiences and providing unconditional support is key to fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship, essential for their path to healing.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Specialized experience in addiction counseling and substance abuse treatment methodologies.
• Proven knowledge of evidence-based practices for treating substance abuse and concurrent mental health disorders.

• Strong therapeutic skills, demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients, and motivate them towards recovery.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Experience coordinating treatment with external resources or support services.
